Hold on! “What Must I Do To Be Saved?” has been signified and simplified in this message for everyone looking forward to being saved.
Life in this world is passing away like the flowers and fading away like the morning star.
What matters now is our security and assurance of the life to come.
Therefore, in this message, “WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?” I will be sharing a vital key that everyone desiring to be saved might key into.
It is only when you engage this key and in the right direction that you gain access to your salvation.
What Is The Meaning Of Salvation?
Before anyone should conclude their experience of salvation, he or she should know what the meaning of salvation is.
Salvation can simply be defined as the saving of one’s soul from sin and death.
When someone is said to have been saved, it simply means such a person has received salvation from enslavery.
The associating words such as freedom, deliverance, redemption, and justification compound’s the whole man who is a beneficiary of salvation (Life Eternal).
So we see, when one is saved from death, such is delivered into life eternal.
Is salvation for all?
Before salvation came to be, there was an existence of sin. Salvation is for all because all have sinned, and being in slavery to sin, all should be saved.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).
Certainly, sin is a reproach that produces death, but salvation redeems a sinner from death into life eternal.
Is Salvation a Free Gift?
There are gifts that are given on credits, and salvation is certainly not one of them.
Basically, salvation from sin and eternal damnation is God’s free gift unto all sinners. Unfortunately, not all receive it due to its simplicity.
Salvation Is A Free Gift
What we should know and understand is that salvation is a free gift, and it is freely given.
The reason is because the giver already worked and paid the full price for it. He did so because none of us could.
The Saviour is the one who saves, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ.
“For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world; but now once, at the end of the world, he has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” (Hebrews 9:26).
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18).
The Lord Jesus Christ didn’t give us salvation through the works of our hands, but by the sacrifice of Himself, He paid sin in full, so that we may be free.
Since Salvation Is A Free Gift, What Must I Do To Be Saved?
In Acts 16, after Brother Paul and Silas were put in prison, they prayed and sang praises. The outcome was an earthquake, which shook the foundations of the prison.
According to the scriptures in Acts 16:26, all the prison doors were opened, and the chains fell off all the prisoners, including Paul and Silas.
The incident was a shocking experience for the prison keeper, who wanted to kill himself until Paul’s intervention.
Do you know what the prison keeper did?
“Then he called for a light and sprang in, came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas.
And brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (The Acts 16:29-30).
What Must I Do To Be Saved?
The same prison keeper who wanted to kill himself went to Paul and Silas (his prisoners).
He asked them, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
I strongly believe there are thousands of people searching for what they must do to be saved.
Having been asked, What must I do to be saved? Paul and Silas plainly gave a straightforward answer to the question.
“… Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31).
Question: What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Answer: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you must be saved, you must believe in the Savior’s ability to save.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18).
Faith is the only key that can give you access to the salvation from sin and eternal damnation.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6).
This faith can only work when it anchors on the person of God, Christ Jesus.
Jesus Christ himself said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
The Father revealed Himself in the Son, and everyone who must be saved, must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He is both true God and eternal life.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
