Are you searching for the righteousness of God in Christ and want to know what it’s all about?
Do you know that being saved from sin and eternal damnation has nothing to do with what you can do for yourself?
You have come a long way, but not the wrong way. Therefore, you should know that it all anchors on the righteousness of God in Christ.
Righteousness Meaning
RIGHTEOUSNESS MEANING is the keyword that refers to what righteousness means. Righteousness is the product of the righteous.
The word “righteous” is a state of moral excellence. That is, the ability to produce and promote what is right without including what is wrong.
Righteousness simply means all rights without wrongs; doing the right things only.
There are basically two types of righteousness: the righteousness by works and the righteousness of God.
What Is Righteousness By Works?
The righteousness by works (that is, righteous works of man) is the right works of man; those things that are righteous before a man and produced by a man.
THE RIGHTEOUSNESS BY WORKS can also be seen as self-righteousness as it pertains to what a man does and declares right to himself.
What Is The Righteousness Of God?
On the other hand, the righteousness of God refers to the righteous works of God, by God, before and for God’s creatures (including man).
It is righteousness by faith.
The Righteousness of Works vs. The Righteousness of God
It is worth knowing that God made man. Therefore, the righteousness of God is superior to the righteousness by works of men.
The righteous works of man are of a man to himself, while the righteousness of God is of God unto all men.
The scriptures, according to Proverbs 21:2, say:
“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD pondereth the hearts.”
Does the right sight of a man’s works make his works right indeed?
Because it is right in a man’s eyes doesn’t make it right indeed. God is still in charge of determining what is or isn’t right.
The reason for this is that God is the Founder of righteousness. He revealed His righteousness in full in His Person, Christ Jesus.

The Righteousness Of God In Christ
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6).
The righteousness of God in Christ is solely God’s righteous works of salvation and redemption, revealed in Christ Jesus.
This doesn’t associate or negotiate with any man’s contributions. It’s God’s own commission and should be regarded as such, with reference to God.
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:18).
None Is Righteous Without God
“Who hath declared from the beginning that we may know? and before time, that we may say, He is righteous? Yeah, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.” (Isaiah 41:26).
The gods of this world cannot make you righteous before God, nor does righteousness by works of men.
“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).
It is certain that every man has wronged in one way or another, and every wrongdoing is sin.
All the men that were accorded righteous in the scriptures and beyond were accorded so by God’s declaration and workings in them and through their faith in the Promise.
Though the laws of Moses made men right with themselves, they could not make anyone right with God.
It is the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus that makes everyone who believes right with God (I mean, approved and accepted by God).
“And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.” (The Acts 13:39).
This justification or righteousness of God in Christ is an undeserved gift, not earned. It is freely given in Christ Jesus.
“Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:11).
Look at what Brother Paul, the Apostle, said:
“Yeah, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” (Philippians 3:8-9).
That faith is believing in Christ Jesus.
How To Partake Of The Righteousness Of God In Christ
What Christ did at the cross is what God has done for us. Anyone who desires to partake of it must do so by faith in Christ Jesus.
Don’t try to please God, for God is the pleaser of Himself. Instead, submit to God’s will and let God please Himself in you.
“For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17).
“And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” (Romans 8:10).
Conclusion
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” (1 John 2:1).
