The Preaching Against Celebrating Christmas

During the Christmas season sometime ago, precisely on the 25th of December, there was a preacher who went for an outdoor evangelism.

While people were going to their denominations for service, the preacher stood beside a local church and preached with his microphone.

Lo and behold, he was preaching against Christmas, pointing to the fact that celebrating Christmas is a sin!

Is Celebrating Christmas a Sin?

According to the preacher, it is a sin to celebrate Christmas. But if celebrating Christmas is a sin, how sinful is it?
In John 7:24 Jesus said,
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.“

How True Is Celebrating Christmas A Sin?

Christmas celebration is seen and preached as a sin by some persons, based on the historical background knowledge of Christmas’ origination in relation to paganism.
People who rely on these informations and activities surrounding Christmas find it detesting to celebrate.
Some go further to find scriptural verses to use in making their points clear against celebrating Christmas.
However, there is no active or specific verse against Christmas.
Although the word Christmas is not found in the Bible, Christmas is ideal for the celebration of the birth of Christ, the Savior of the world.

Some Reasons People Say Celebrating Christmas Is A Sin

Well, the saying that celebrating Christmas is a sin results from people’s feelings about the holiday.
Don’t you know that wrong feelings make it wrong even when it isn’t?
If you feel wrong about it, don’t bother celebrating it.
Some would say that Jesus didn’t celebrate his birthday or that Jesus wasn’t born on the 25th of December. We are in total agreement on the fact.
But if you must know, Christmas in its real sense doesn’t argue over the birth day of Christ. Christians who celebrate Christmas do so to remember the birth of Christ.
Take, for instance, the great people who died and are still in memorials. Are they of any match with Christ?
They died and are dead, but our Lord Jesus Christ died and rose again. He is alive! Glory!
So do you need instructions to remember His birth and accomplishments, whether on a day or every day?

Here Is The Truth About Celebrating Christmas (a sin or not?)

It is falsehood to generally declare celebrating Christmas a sin, especially when the celebrants acknowledge they do so in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Celebrating Christmas doesn’t make you a pagan, nor are you dishonoring Christ as long as you know He is the reason for the season.
Celebrating Christmas as a Christian is not a sin and won’t take you to hell!
Whether you celebrate the birth of Christ on the 25th of December or on every other day, it’s in gratitude to God.
Here is what Brother Paul said:
“One man esteemeth one day above another; another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
 
He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eatth, eatth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eatth not, to the Lord he eatth not, and giveth God thanks.” (Romans 14:5-6).
Some people chose celebrating Christmas to honor the birth of Christ; some don’t. It’s not a sin whether or not to celebrate Christmas or the birth of Christ. Christ never instructed us on that.
Therefore, celebrating Christmas a personal preference; you should if you want to.
